Custom Ringtones with VZW 650?

I thought I read somewhere in here that someone figured out a way to use custom WAV or MP3 ringtones for the VZW units w/o having to use Ringo or any of the other pay-for apps.

I tried Ringo but it kept rebooting my Treo (that and the trail verson only allowed me to set one customizable ringtone for only one person). Any way for me so set individual custom ringtones using either WAV fiels or MP3's? Looking for something that is free and won't cause any issues with my Treo like Ringo did. Thanks.

you can use .wav files as ringtones but you need to email it to the treo or send it via bluetooth/IR...mp3's need 3rd party apps..

Others have used mRing -- a 3rd party app for MP3 ringtones. I haven't used it myself. If you check it out ....let us know...

Is there a PC application that will convert your MP3's to WAV's? There must be... That might be worth a try...

There is, I use Goldwave, but that doesn't tell me exatcly how to use those sound files as ringtones for different individuals when they call.

What do I do, just throw them on my storage card?
