Default Deleting e-mails

Last week I upgraded from Treo 600 to Treo 650, and have a question. On the 600, I was able to use the drop-down menu to mark emails as read, then delete them from my Inbox. With the 650, I find an option to "mark" as read, but the only way to delete emails is one by one. Does anyone out there know a shortcut?

Hello druscio,

This is Kevin from Palm. The only way of which I'm aware to accomplish this is to tap the little bullet that is to the left of each mail. You'll notice that tapping the bullet creates a check mark. Then, if you go up to the menu and tap Delete, it will delete all the mails to which you applied a check mark. Hope that helps.

Sincerely
Kevin

Default Deleting emails

Thank you, but the Treo 650 (or at least the one I purchased) is not set up that way. There's no bullet next to the email, the way there is on the Treo 600. When I tap to the left I get a drop down menu with a series of choices, including Delete. I still have to go through them one by one. The Treo 600 allowed me to read whichever emails I wanted to, then do a bulk deletion when I was through.

Hello druscio,

I have to say I'm a bit stumped. Which brand of phone do you have - Sprint, Verizon, Cingular, etc?
I'm assuming that you're using Versamail with a pop address? What version of Versamail is on your Treo? (In VersaMail app > Menu > Options > About Versamail)
I'm not a Technical Support person, but do see a lot of issues, and have not run across this one before. I've scoured the Knowledge base and the Versamail Guides, all mention the tapping/checking the bullet (a tiny diamond shape) on the left side of each email. I cannot say why you don't have that bullet option at this point.

Sincerely
Kevin

I really appreciate you taking time on this. I'm on a Verizon Treo 650, upgraded from a Verizon Treo 600. It's Intellisync not Versamail. But I was on the same system with the 600, so I'm puzzled as well that they didn't keep that shortcut allowing me to do bulk deletions.

Hi druscio,

Ah, yes, Intellisync is Verizon's Wireless Sync client, I believe. Perhaps someone else here who has Verizon as their carrier can add some information to this thread. Verizon support may also have an answer and they can be reached through this page.
Though you may wish to stick with the mail program with which you're currently familiar, according to this page in the Palm Knowledge Library, Verizon Wireless customers can install VersaMail from the Treo 650 CD included in the smartphone's original packaging.

Sincerely
Kevin
