Installing the Treo 650 Updater if have removed your subsidy lock or changed service providers
Some mobile service providers allow you to remove the subsidy lock on your smartphone (
info).
To inquire about removing the subsidy lock, contact your service provider. Not all providers will remove the subsidy lock.
This article applies if you had your provider remove the subsidy lock, then moved to another provider. Or, if you're not sure where your Treo 650 came from, we can help you below.
How does this relate to the Treo 650 updater?
The
Treo 650 Updater (check availability) comes in several versions. Usually, you should install the version that corresponds with your provider, but not if you had your subsidy lock removed.
If you purchased your smartphone from one provider, removed the subsidy lock, and then started service with a new provider,
use the Treo 650 Updater version for your original provider (not your current one).
