Default Difficulty installing minitones app! Hot sync error!

Hi I hope someone can help as I've tried to look in other posts about this issue but to no avail!

I'm looking for a ringtone application so I found minitones. But when I place the prc file in the quick install and hot sync, the following error keeps coming up:

HotSync Error: An application cancelled sychronization or failed to respond to a HotSync notification. Please ensure that you are not currently editing data using applications such as Palm OS Desktop or Install Tool. (8009)

I am not editing any data, no other applications are open! What's happening? Then I tried to install pocket tunes and same thing! Is this a Windows Vista issue? I was able to download a word-to-go doc via quick install with no problems. I have tons of memory and I even tried to install these programs onto my expansion card.. Any ideas??? AHHHH :foot:

It is a Vista issue. You can either copy it to the card with a card reader, placing it in the /Palm/Launcher folder or you can use pInstall if you have Bluetooth or try the PalmVista Installer.

Perfect! Copying the app to the card directly worked like a charm! Thank you Ben!!

Vista really is a pain. I have it on my laptop and if it were not for the amount of time needed to go back to XP, I would have done so long ago. I guess really it is not Microsoft's problem, due to the known fact that it has been available to developers for about a year or so, if not longer.
