disappearing tasks

I could use some advice. My tasks keep on disappearing sometimes in a day sometimes it takes two days. The task function synched to a quick alphabet letter as well as the small button below the volume toggle on the left side.

This has been going on for months. Verizon thought it may be a phone issue so they sent me a new one and still happens. Thanks for your help.

When you look at your tasks, are you looking at the "all" column or just those for 'today' or 'this week'? Or are you losing the entire Tasks application? You might lose the shortcut but the app should still show up on your launcher screen.
