Do I have to pay virzon $44 a month to access net

I am verzion user and want to get Treo 650. according to verzion the only way to access the net is through there data plan of $44 amonth. what about pdanet? Do I have to have verzons data plan to use PDA net? What about another 3rd party, cheaper plan?

You have 3 choices. 1> pay the $44 per month for unlimited data usage. (I have this) and use PDAnet to make connection to laptop. 2> Pay as you go. Which is 1.5 cents per kb. Comes out to $75 to download one MP3 song. or try to use dialup. Extremely slow, iffy reliablility, and sometimes and someplaces will be charged the same price as National Access speed.

So you're pretty much stuck with option #1.
