Question Document questions

If you have read this somewhere eles bare with me...new to all this tech stuff.

My company has asked me to decide between blackberry and treo 650.
I like the personality of the 650 But I am concerned about the stability of accessing word and excel and powerpoints via email. We will need to open/manipulate and/or create new documents on the systems to send to one another.

I really want the Treo but I want to know if it is stable...how hard is it to manipulate the attachments? How hard is it to create new documents? Will we be able to get the emails and work with documents with it straight out the box? Or will we need to buy a lot of extra stuff to get the treo to work correctly without crashing?

Thanks for helping and technical challanged individual ...powers that be will bless you

Hi and welcome.

I was concerned about stability before buying, too. After a lot of net research, including a lot here in this forum, it seems that the majority of the instability problems are in the past. Especially since, buying new, you'll get the latest firmware. As for opening and manipulating documents attached to email, DocsToGo (included) will handle that for you, with one exception. PowerPoint will be read-only. There are always new 3rd-party apps being designed. Maybe someone here knows of someone with something that can create/edit PowerPoint? Hope this helps.

Question

Thanks for the info...

Word and excel are my primary concerns...
this phone will be my primary connection to clients...and immediate receipt of their emails and immediate responses will be required.

Just dont want to get a phone that is going to constantly delay my response time

Just the opposite. You'll always be in touch and the additional possibilities are almost limitless. Happy shopping!
