Default Double Screen

Hello All,
I'm new here and I have a problem with my Treo 650.
One day on vacation I had my Treo in a bag along with
a bottle of juice (I know, I was asking for trouble... and I got it).
The bottle wasn't closed completly and some of the juice got into
my Treo. As a result to that, now it looks like this:

As you can see it has a Double Screen and it looks nasty, I hope someone out there can help.

By the way I got the photos from online and retouched it to simulate how mine really look. It's a Cingular Treo 650
Thanks so much.

Resetting might help???? But I doubt that will do anything. It looks like you damaged the lcd so you might have to buy a new lcd screen and replace it yourself, trade-in, buy a new phone.

Has it had time to dry out?? Screen replacement I believe is $100.-$150.00. Insurance?? Have you tried to recalibrate your screen. (probably won't help)

Through various posts over the last year a Treo getting wet seems to have the best chance for recovery if the unit is not turned on to see if it works until it has had sufficient time to dry on its own. That could be up to three or four days. That has usually been when water get them wet. I am not sure about something like juice where you could be adding sugar to the problem.

This may not be pretty.

Sorry,
SteveTaz

Letting it dry out is the ultimate answer. However, a small amount of moisture captured under the screen can often be moved by GENTLY moving your finger over the effected area and spreading the water toward the side of the device. A gentle oriented squeege is what is needed that does not press down too hard or scrape the screen.

As for the juice, so far it has not gotten to the circuit board - what that happens, trouble. Consider taking it apart and isolating/wrapping something around the board to absorb the juice might be a consideration.

Sorry I wasn't able to reply to your comments sooner. But I've reset it by pushing the small reset button in the back. I know theres a way to hard reset but I don't know how.

If that don't work I guess I have to get a new LCD, where can I get one from a relyable site or store.

jhowel mentioned a reload, the software might be messed up. I will try that.

I'm trying my best not to have to buy another one because I have no insurance on it.

I'm going crazy. I'ts like leaving home without my Treo 650.

First off, here's how to reset your treo:

http://kb.palmone.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/W...,Case=obj(887)

If you are comfortable with dismantling your treo, I would definetely do that. Assess the damage and try and find where moisture may still be located. You can actually purchase components that you find to be damaged and replace them yourself. It's pretty easy if you have experience with that type of thing (for example, I repair laptops at work all the time) and you have the right tools.

The best guide on how to open your treo is here:

There are people who can repair your device. I've seen a lot of people link a guy who offers his services over ebay. Look up "treo 650 parts" on google if you want to replace it yourself, or even buy an "as is" or "for parts" model off ebay. There are some good resources there.
