Question Dropped the Curve got with the TREO 650

OK .... first let me start by saying "Hi to all" and searched the first dozen pages and no answer, however migrating from a bb curve to a treo 650 i love it ....but i have unlimited internet text etc. But not real pleased with the email abilities of the treo. I hope i am jut not using the proper application. right now I am using yahoo and on the 650 Xpressmail to recieve emails from my yahoo acct. is there any way to get real time email all the time via setting or a new application ?

    Thanks in advance

I may be wrong but I thought that Yahoo changed their email setup, so if you want to export it you have to have Mail Plus or something which is a yearly subscription? so if you have a Mail Plus account with Yahoo, you can use several email agents like ChatterEmail or Snappermail to get your POP yahoo mail. If yo have regular Yahoo Mail (no paid subscription) then you cannot have POP access. I got this from the Yahoo Options screen:

    Mail Plus

Get personalized spam filtering with SpamGuard Plus, 20MB message size, no graphical ads, POP access and forwarding, and more great features for just $19.99/year - that's less than $2/month.

EDIT: I can suggest that you get a free gmail account and use it in IMAP setup which you can use with the onboard Versamail, or as I do, use it with ChatterEmail for a true PUSH email which is constantly online with your server.

I had no issues with yahoo on the curve I must jut be missing a setting somewhere. just find it hard to believe the 650 does not have a setting for real time email .... it is a pain not having auto send and recieve :embarassed:

Basically you are looking for the push email you got with the BB platform, but with a Treo? Not the same...

From what I understand, Chattermail can give push results, but I believe you will still have to have a premium subscrition to Yahoo and Chattermail is not a free program. They do have a free trial though....

You might not have done the proper amount of due diligence before taking the leap.

I went through the drama of leaving Yahoo! Plus to Gmail free and that took about 1 week to let everyone know. The spam factor is not as bad with Gmail - it got real bad with Yahoo for a while. As for applications, having used the 4 out there (Versamail, Agendus, SnapperEmail and ChatterEmail), I stuck with ChatterEmail. I have licenses for Snapper & Chatter and once in a while try what comes out - ChatterEmail still out performs the pack.
