This is the exact same problem that I am seeing with some of our corp TREO 650s. Some work, some don't. Some that used to work (before DST) no longer work now. Not certain if there is a correlation there or not.

Hoping someone out there can help us - please!

Perhaps a dumb question, but is the Vibrate option checked in your mail alert preferences? I have the option in the email program as well as the device preferences.

Steve I just checked my treo and it was unchecked for vibrate. Maybe the DST fix changed the setting.

    Hi Plunker:

It almost seems that any time there is a software update just about anything can change, intended or otherwise. In my case I really don't use the vibrate setting and if the DST update changed the on setting to off, I couldn't have noticed.

Then again it could be those pesky poltergeists!!!

    Hi Steve,

Yes, vibrate alert is on. Message settings match phone settings - and phone will vibrate with incoming call alert. Email alerts do not happen at all - ring or vibrate.

Opps! I checked mine with a text message not e-mail. I'll look at it again.

    Hi TreoAdmin:

Just to clarify, I am not referring to the Messaging settings in the main Treo Preferences. I am not sure that the Messaging settings control the email sounds. I thought those were strictly for the Messaginging function. I am referring to the Preferences from directly in the email program. Please note that we are using BizConnect and Exchange 2003 for our corporate mail and they may have options not available in other email set-ups.

I did just look into Versamail and there seems to be no option to set vibrate, only the sounds.

I am not sure what controls the email sounds and vibrate function in your system, but mine seems to be from within the email program. Do you have any options like that using the menu button while in email?

Your right on again Steve. My treo does not have an option to vibrate with versamail.

I would search for a 3rd party mail app or a ringing program that may let you have these features. The guys speak highly of chattermail or if it does not have the option maybe one of the ringing app might have the feature.

Maybe some of the Chattermail and Snappermail users could chime in here.

Do you have a vibrate option in those programs?

    Kreth, Benjie, Stillrockin, kdallen???..................
