Earthlink Treo 650 - Treo Forums

Hi all. I need some help or advice. I recently purchased a Treo 650 on Ebay. A friend I knew told me that Earthlink Treo's could be activated on the Sprint network. When I tried to activate my phone on my existing account (14 months left on contract) Sprint told me my phone was locked on a different type of service (prepaid?). Sprint told me I was out of luck and they could not help me.

When I power my phone on, it starts up with the Eathlink greeting. Can I change software so it will be Sprint? Does anyone know of any fixes or should I sell my treo and start over?

I would do try this:
- Contact the seller - especially if their ad advertised the phone as being ready to use on other wireless networks such as Sprint
- Contact Earthlink and see if they'll "unlock" the phone
- Try and play CSR roulette at Sprint. You might get a rep who knows how to unlock the phone.
