Emails not being recieved on Treo 650 over the air UNLESS they are opened first =(

Emails recieved on the Treo cannot be opened over the air unless I open up outlook or the web client, open up the email, and then the Treo recieves it. It's a very wierd problem and doesn't happen all the time. The T-Mobile MDA using the windows OS doesn't have this problem. Any suggestions?

Questions like,
What is your e-mail setup?
Are you talking about POP3 or IMAP or Exchange?
Are you using Goodlink or something else?
What type of E-mail that you are not able to open?
...

Too many things can go wrong here

Check to see if you have "download message headers only" or IMAP enabled in your client. Otherwise, info detailed above is required.
