    Question Emails not deleting from server using Versamail

    Hi Again,

    I am wondering if anyone has experienced a problem with emails not deleting from server when using Versamail?
    Keep getting the same messages downloading + the new ones each time I 'Get'.
    This problem has just surfaced as it was working fine a few days ago.

    Have you checked your settings in versamail? Maybe they have changed.

    I don't delete the messages on the server just download the ones by time frame.

    I had this problem as well. I was using a POP email server and downloaded all of my messages every time. What type of server are you using? (POP, IMAP, EXCHANGE, etc.)

    I wonder if this is not an issue for your e-mail provider instead of a treo issue?

    Are you also pulling mail from a computer - check the setting there also. POP is set up to pull and delete - that is once they are pulled, they are no longer on the server. However, if you have you account set up on your PC to "leave mail on the server" (except gmail, which you gives some options), then the mail will stay there until a certian time passes (you can adjust the days it will stay before deleted) or until you go to the server and do something with it. However, I have found that Versamail will not necessarily override those settings - even if you ask it to delete from the server also. Hope this helps and I am not being redundant.

    Its a long running VersaMail issue and the only solution that I have found for it is to use another computer to pull down the mail and then sync the account on your Treo, delete the account, then redo the account. That has kicked started it for all but a few of my accounts. The ones in which that has not worked I attribute to VersaMail. You might try ChatterEmail or SnapperMail as they might have solved what VersaMail has not.

    Thanks very much for your input Bubbatex & Antoine.

    I have since heard of others with this same problem and it l looks like a Versa mail issue.
    I think I am going to try another email software as you suggest.

    Rooster - on a totally unrelated note - everytime I see/hear Saskatchewan, I think of the train conductor in the original Frosty the Snowman cartoon.......just one of those childhood memories stuck in some brain cells!
