Emoticons won't display

i have not used my phone in about 2 months when i finally reacquainted myself with it I did a much needed HotSync and the Updater (that i thought i had done back in January). Anyway...now when i send text msgs...my Emoticons don't appear. They show symbols ...any ideas what i can do?

Hello FlyMom,

This is Kevin from Palm. Is your Treo either a Rogers branded or an unlocked GSM? If so, the Palm Knowledge Library article "Smart Text Updater" describes an issue with emoticons after installing the 1.20 update. It provides a link to an update patch but, again, this is for Rogers or unlocked GSM Treo650s only. Hope that helps.

I can send the little sysmblos but only certain phones are able to view them. My family has four phones and only my sons razor will show or send to me.

Or do you mean that you insert the symbol and it does not show up for you to see before you send??
