Default Entering security code for voicemail?

With all of my old cell phones I could program it to enter my security code automatically. All I would do is type in my number for voicemail, type in "***", which would show up as "ppp" on the phone and then enter in my security code.

When this was done, if I called my voicemail, it would call my voicemail, then pause and enter my security code when asked for it.

Is there a way to do this with a treo 650? I could even do it with the PPC 6700 that I tried before I got my 650.

I have a hard time driving down the road, calling my voicemail and then entering my security code manually.

Thanks for the input.
Troy

Hi,

I'm guessing that this is what you're looking for, especially #8 & 9:

Er...please drive carefully!

That might be me behind you; trying to drive, drink coffee, read my GPS, check my teeth in the rear view mirror, and order lunch on my Treo at the same time. I can't be watching out for you, too.

I don't know who your carrier is, but with both Sprint and Cingular, this is setup through voice mail and not through the phone. Caller ID will tell your mail when it is you calling from your phone and not ask for the code.

Thanks for the input.

It took me a while to check back, but I appricate it.

Visor,

The extra keys were just what I needed to make this work.

Bondelev,

I have Alltel for my provider. And you have to make it work with your phone. If you don't figure it out yourself, they won't help you. They told me "that is what a security code is for, to stop you from hearing the messages unless you enter the number in yourself".

But I like to have it just be entered in automatically, so I appricate you respones.

I have Cingular and it always asks me for the code. I have it programmed though, so its no big deal.

Hmm. I have Cingular, too. Never have to enter in a code.

Are you having it dial your cell number (from your cell) when checking messages? That's what I do and it goes right into my messages.

Actually no... it uses the pre-installed Voice mail shortcut which is like 908463XXXX. Hmm, maybe I will change this option.
Thanks!

Just tried it, still asks for it. That's so odd.

Thanks!
I reprogrammed mine and it works great. Call Cingular and maybe there's something they can do. Their Treo (data) support people are pretty nice. They helped me with Versamail when gmail.com was choking on my sending email.

They went through the trouble to create an account and test it. Nice.
