This is a discussion on Essential Apps... within the Treo Smartphones forums; I love Verichat also.. it's great to IM'ing all your friends on all of the IM clients.
Have had issues ...

I've just gotten onto the Jabber (multi IM) bandwagon and I must say Chatopus is excellent- plus, there's no recurring fees!

Lulu, do you use MSN with chatopus?
If you do, do you find that MSN logs out frequently? If it does, does it automatically log you back in?
Also, does it work well in background mode? I'm interested in using it as a text messaging method. I've used Mundu, but I dont think its very stable with the 650 in background mode. Verichat is the best one I've used so far. However it has a yearly fee. Not that I can't afford it, but as a consumer, I dont want to endorse this type of fee service.

Yes, I use Chatopus with MSN. It doesnt seem to log me out frequently. It works very well in the background mode!

I'm starting to like this Jabber. Is there a way of displaying your contacts with just their name, and not the whole address?

I don't know if it's better, but Xiino is faster. There's a trial, so you can check it out for free - see if it works for you.

What about Contact management apps??? Is there any that works better than what we have? I hate having to copy and paste to add a number to an existing contact.
