The video iPod is now my main iPod. This will go most everywhere with me and of course the car. I'm really enjoying the video part. I had been compressing videos for use with my Treo and then just dumped them into iTunes. In my opinion, the new video iPod is the new MTV. MTV is all about shows now and they are rarely (if ever) play videos. I was siked to see a bunch of old school music videos on iTunes and already have downloaded a bunch.

As a Shuffle owner, you know about it's capabilities. I like to set up a playlist and then have the shuffle randomly fill from that playlist.

If this wasn't enough, I also have a bunch of tunes on my Treo. The problem is the sync factor - that's where the iPod really shines.

Have you ever tried the Archos AV400 series? I bought one a little over a year ago. 80GB HD, music, video, pictures, personal video recording ( like a mini TiVo ), 4inch screen, and more features. It IS a bit bigger than an ipod, but I mostly use it in the Gym to play music videos when doing cardio ( read, on the stationary bike ). Still, you can hook in up to a TV/Projector and it takes SD/CF cards. Something people may wish to check out as an alternative.

Back to the Treo, are there any tried and true GPS apps? I was looking at the Garmen portable GPS, but if the Treo's software ( Tom Tom? ) works well, I would rather just let the Treo do that, too.

Check out the Tom Tom Navigator Review and also the Let's Discuss the TomTom Navigator thread. It's a great GPS solution for Treo owner's.

Just be aware that any other Bluetooth devices won't work while you're using a Bluetooth GPS product.

I'm using RemoveIt, mainly because I was already using BackupBuddyVFS, and Blue Nomad had a discount to upgrade to their Blue Nomad Suite, which includes BackupBuddy (desktop backup conduit), Swordfish (password management), as well as RemoveIt.

There's a link at the very bottom of North Glide's web page with a tutorial: http://www.northglide.com/um_howtouse.html

You'd never see it if you downloaded it from a third-party site.

I've also discussed Uninstall manager on my blog with a Flash demo of removing Palm apps, although I can't remember whether I actually discussed Uninstall manager at length. If not, I guess that will eventually be a posting.

Must every post be an ad for your blog?

I agree!!!! I am not trying to slight your blog at all. I've been there, and you obviously spent quite a bit of time researching your articles, putting the flash presentations, etc together. Its certainly a good read and people need to know about it. (I have it bookmarked!) But IMHO, you are hurting your cause with these posts. Every post I have read from you, offered nothing more to the topic, other than the fact that you have "discussed this on my blog" I am not trying to discourage you from posting here. You certainly seem to know quite a bit about Palm OS and the Applications for it. Please, for two of us here anyway, try to speak directly to the topic, and maybe take a cue from me and add a link in your signature . .

She has a link in her sig, which I don't have a problem with. It's, as you said, the "I discussed this in my blog" comments that are annoying. I'm also confused, because according to said blog, she doesn't own a Treo...
Now, hopefully to pull this thread back on topic, here's what I'm running right now:
    Hi-Launcher
    PowerRun (trial)
    TakePhone
    Snappermail
    Blue Nomad Security Suite Plus
    Docs to Go
    Card Export II
    Datebk5 (trial)
    Diddlebug
    Directory Assistant
    eReader
    FileProg
    HandzipperLite
    KeyCaps
    magicButton
    mLights
    mRing
    pTunes
    QuickNews
    SplashPhoto
    TCPMP
    TreoAlarm
    Unit2Unit
    VolumeCare

I'm an old school Datebk user (it's everything the Palm calendar should be), but don't have my old reg info. The developer is very responsive to bugs, and the license fees support a good cause, so I think I'll just end up paying for the license again.
PowerRun will be a keeper as well. I moved several apps to my card (including TCPMP, which runs just fine), and I currently have 10.7MB free on my Treo.
