Default Exchange Server won't let Treo In

    Hi All -

Happily thinking my Treo 650 would replace my Blackberry, until I can't get push email to work.

Our IT shop is 100% Blackberry supported, won't even discuss another platform. I am sure others have encountered this problem, how can I get push email setup to retrieve email from MSFT Exchange Server (2003)? I tried all the trial products (Versamail, Chattermail, Snappermail, Inbox to Go), without success.

    Can anyone assist?

    Thanks!

It sounds like you'll need a redirector if you can't get direct access to the Exchange server. There are solutions provided by the carriers, such as Sprint's Business Connection, Verizon's Wireless Sync, and Cingular's Xpressmail.

Your best bet would be to take the 650 to ur IT folks, open Versamail and create a new email account infront of them for use on Exchange Server (its a preference in many new ROMed models, if not in your update via the Palm Updater page for Treos here: http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/treo650updater/)
and then ask them for the information that it will ask you on the screens. They would have no issue doing so (although you would only be doing email in this fashion). BBConnect for Treos is out in some chanels, but no one knows when it will make a wider debut. Have your IT folks take a look at the BB Connect software and it will make their headaches easier if you or others want to go Treo (though I will say, you might lose control of your Treo, via the fact that it would become a company managed device; that is the biggest reason I dont like BBs and dont recommend them unless the IT dept is needy enough for that kind of deployment).
