I've spent that last 12 hours learning how to create a custom ROM for my Treo 650. Using instructions from Shadowmite's site plus this guide ->
http://mytreo.net/treofaq/Treo650ROMFaq , I've created a custom ROM and copied the Palm and ROM folders to my SD card, and have put the SD card into my Treo. Then... nothing. The Treo pops up a list of files that are on the SD card, but does not update the firmware. I have tried doing a soft reset to see if that would kick off the update, but no go. I must be missing a step, but I have crossed off each step in the instructions as I completed them, and nothing is unchecked. Perhaps the instructions are missing the part the sets up an updated program that installs the ROM? What I have on my SD card is this Palm - no files Palm\launcher - 106 .prc files ROM - 216 .aprc,.bprc,.lprc, and .oprc files. That is it. Should there be something else? I am at wits end. The only thing that may be missing is the mysterious "Device Configurator" and "Treo.XXX" folders that are mentioned in the FAQ, but were nowhere to be found during the creation of the custom ROM. That may be the problem, but I still don't have a solution. Thank You, Fortezza
