| First Post, mp3 question How exactly do you add mp3s to your treo. It doesn't say anything on the online manual. Its probably something easy but I just got this and I am extremely new with these. Thanks |

Thanks | Hello, Bsos, and welcome to ET. Browse around. There's lots of good info here. You might want to check out the KnowledgeBase, it may answer some of the questions you're sure to come up with as you play with your Treo a little more. As for adding mp3's to your phone, there are a few different ways to do it. The first is to transfer by hotsync. If you open up Palm Desktop, or QuickInstall on your computer, you can drag the mp3 into the sync window (card, not device). This isn't the most preferred method, though. It can be time-consuming if transferring a good bit of music (or other media, for that mater) at one shot. Another way is via a card reader. Newer laptops come with built-in readers; for others, card readers can be found as cheap as $10 at local electronics stores or online. Just pop the SD card out of the Treo and into the reader and "drag-and-drop" whatever you want onto the card, then put the card back into the Treo. Still another is with a 3rd-party app called CardExport II, which allows your computer to see your Treo's card (while it's still in the Treo) as an additional drive and manipulate files that way.
Hope this helps you out some. If you've got more questions you can't find answers to, feel free to post away.

| I take it I need a sd card because I tryed to send an mp3 to my treo using palm desktop and it failed saying
"HotSync operation started 09/24/06 11:55:50
Install error: There is no card present in the SecureDigital (SD) Card-slot.
Install To Card synchronization failed"
So Im assuming I need to get a sd card.. And Ill probably get a card reader as well since there both cheap, correct? |

| Yep, you'll need a card to deal with mp3's and other media, as well. And the reader too, if your computer doesn't come with one built-in.

Cannot Copy Disk is write-protected remove write-protection or use another disk | Let's eliminate the most obvious possibility first: check the write-protect tab on the side of your SD card.

| Another heads up, Bsos.
Some audio programs need the mp3 files to be in a specific directory on your SD card. It's good practice (organizationally, if nothing else) to keep them in a top-level folder called AUDIO. To create a new folder, you can use a launcher app like zLauncher, or the excellent (and free) Filez.
