First Treo! Help!

Ok I just bought a Treo 650 from a friend used and I love it but I have some questions....

1. I don't have the hotsync cable yet (what is a good online store to order one?) so I have been putting the .prc files of the programs I want to install on my SD card and then trying to install them that way but about half the programs and all plugins for programs do not show up in launcher under the card category....Is there anyway to solve this or do I really need to get the hotsync cable.

-I do have a bluetooth enabled computer (Mac) can I sync through that?

2. Do most people run their applications off the phone or off of the SD card, what does this do to the speed of the phone?

3. My treo seems to be restarting itself frequently when it goes into screen lock and I try and turn it back on. Is this a common problem? Is it usually caused by third-party programs or the phone? Also, when performing a warm/hard reset does it erase everything off of your SD card?

4. I have 10MB of data through Cingular, how much does that really amount to in terms of email and internet usage, is there anyway to log how much data I use so I do not go over?

5. Do most people use VersaMail and Blazer or download third party programs for their email and web browsing.

6. What are the popular backup utilities?

You can email it to yourself. If prompted device or card, select device. Mac needs a special application - Missing Sync or something like that. Any application that does not interact with another one or works with an alarm(s) can be placed on the card.
Try disabling screen lock and see what happens.

Mail: ChatterEmail far exceeds Versamail.

Backup: Resco Backup or NVBackup.
