    Default Generic Mail Program

I have recently been using Versamail on my 650 and it works find receiving and sending mail.

    I have two problems thought:

    1) The Generic Mail program that was on my 650 when I bought it (I guess) continues to be on my 650 and I cannot figure out how to delete that program.

    2) I have chaged the mail button on my 650 to now go to Versamail when I push it, but when I hotsync, it automatically reverts back to the old Mail program.

I can live with the old mail program on my 650 somewhere but I am tired of it constantly overriding my preference set up by replacing itself over the versamail program for the mail button.

Do I have a default Hotsync problem or something else?

The generic email program on Treo 650s is Versamail. What email program are you referring to? You cant' delete Versamail without creating a custom ROM and installing that. Not a simple task, and not without risks, like turning your Treo into a paperweight.

It is just called "Mail" and there is no specific name to this mail program.

I guess the other question is this:

I have set my preference buttons (the mail button icon) to go to Versamail. But everytime I sync, it reverts back to the old mail program. How do I make a button a default so it does not revert to the old button.

This is also the case for my sidebar button. It is currently set to go to "Contacts" but it reverts to "Realplayer" everytime I sync.
