Default Anyone..

had any luck responding to emails in gMail using Versamail? I still cant get it to send replies. I keep getting this error message. "530 5.7.0 Must issuea a STARTTLS command first h36m2930965wxd" what is that mean? some one put that in Laymens terms! haha also I changed to outgoing server to a different # that Chris gave me a while ago and I still get the 'no response from the STMP server"

Help on that please

Also, Verizon users or anyone else who has it. There is an app that came on the 650 just called "mail with a blue and red arrow going opp directions. what is that? how do I use that? I try to connect but then it asks for a password. I have no clue.... help please

Also how do you get outlook to pop to the 650?..through Versamail?

Back when I was using versamail, I was able to send and receive gmail. However, there were times when versamail would lock up and would be unable to retrieve mail. I would just try later and it would work.
Now I use chattermail and have had no problems whatsoever.
For the versamail settings, I just used the settings that were posted on gmail's options(website).

Default Gmail POP for VersaMail Down?

Hi. I have had my Treo 650 for about 4 months and my Versamail was working fine with Gmail but for the passed 3 days I have been getting an error message when I have been trying to get my mail:
"Unable to connect to pop.gmail.com. Please verify your sever name entry." What does this mean? Is something wrong with gmail?
Thanks for your help!!

This might help. How about setting your outbound SMTP settings for your carrier (in this case Verizon)
  • SMTP Server: smtp.vzwmail.net
  • User name: [10-digit phone number]@vzwmail.net (6505551212@vzmail.net)
  • Password:Your www.vtext.com password

Check out this Palm Knowledge Base article on outbound email with VersaMail
