Default Got my new Treo 650 yesterday!!!

Have waited & waited for a long time, & at last $ has worked out so this single dad can get the phone he really wanted! Not really the kind of guy to spend a lot on myself, but after getting the kid a $1000 RC car for Xmas he said he wanted me to get myself a Treo... I must be doing something right in raising him!?

Have played with it a bit and have been reading here for a few days. It is all that I had hoped!

The only thing that i haven't found either in the book or on the forum here...
I know that turning off the statis light on some of my other phones increased the battery life. Is that the case with the Treo? And if so how do i turn it off? If I have overlooked it somewhere I do apologize!

Thanks for your time,
Joel

Congrats on the Treo <and if you are like me...the RC car too! I play with the kids' toys, when their good toys >

I don't know if you can turn off the indicator natively, but I think you can with a third party app called Butler. Two points here, though. 1. the Treo in my opinion, has better than average battery life, and 2. you can set it to auto on and auto off at certain times of the day.

Hope this helps a little.
George

Default Other Profile programs

Profile (freeware) and Central also control status. I have found that both of these applications can play tricks with the Treo causing unwanted resets. I have tried out both of these products on my Treo but have backed off because they keep crashing my DocumentsToGo. Give them a try. They may work on your phone. Battery life has not been a problem for me.

I found that with Profile, you need to make sure that you have nothing else conflicting with it after a reset. I had Profile and Powerup both trying to turn on the radio after a reset, and my Treo would occasionally reset 3 or 4 times in a row before one of the apps would "win." I tried out Central, but the day-glo color scheme was too much for me.
