    Exclamation GPS and SAT.

    Hi,
I have a question.... I have the tomtom and I seem to have trouble trying to get it to hook up with the sat. I dont always have a problem but alot of the time its hard to get it working. I am not talking about my treo phone, I am talking about the GPS device.
Does anyone know about this or has had the same problem?

Thanks for any help with this.

Its a treo 650 with the MKll I believe its called, the one with the hole in it.

Hmmm. I have this same unit, and mine connects almost immediately. I wonder if you have this problem, described in the manual:

    "Note that
many modern vehicles have a heat reflective shield embedded in the windshield
preventing good reception when the GPS receiver is placed on the dashboard. If you have
problems getting a GPS signal, try placing the TomTom Wireless GPS MK II receiver
under your rear window." (from http://www.tomtom.com/lib/doc/mob5_n...less%20GPS.pdf )

I'd try it outside the car and see if you're able to connect. If you are, then you need to find a better location within your car to put the receiver. I've had mine in the trunk before and still gotten a good sat feed and BT connection with the Treo. Hope this helps.

I have tried it outside before I get in the car. I dont know if the car has a heat reflective shield embedded in the windshield. Its a 2000 4runner. I live up in the mountains but dont know if thats a problem or not because sometimes it comes right on.
