    Question Hearing .wav Attachments

    Hi there all.

I have a new landline phone service that sends me an e-mail with a .wav attachment when I get a voicemail message. When I try to hear it, my 650 tells me that this file type isn't supported.

Is there anything I can do as this would make life a whole lot easier?

If this is answered elsewhere, please point me

    Regards

    Martin

Hi, you can install this free player, TCPMP for Palm, and be sure in also install the .wav plug-in for it. I believe that you can place both of these on your card and they will work. The plug-in is found inside the folder, once you unzip it.

OK, so the e-mail arrives with the .wav file embedded in it. (I have uploaded the software you mention to the memory card (how do I do that?)).

How do I get the .wav file to the software. I have also noticed that the .wav file has the .wav bit of the filename not included in the link, the rest of it is, but not the .wav bit.

Sorry to be a bit thick here - I've never actually used the SD card that I have in my phone!

    Regards

Well, to install the TCPMP, you had to unzip the file you downloaded onto your computer. Inside you will find a file called TCPMP .072 (or something similar with the version #). Just place this file in your Quick Install and make sure you choose Card for the destination. Also you will need the plug-in for .wav; it should be marked .wav plugin. Put that in your Quick Install as well. Do a hotsync and they should be placed in your Palm Launcher folder so that it appears as an icon on your Launcher.

Now when you get the email with the file attached, you have to download and save the file. Do whatever routine you normally do to download an attached file. If it gives you a choice, choose to save it to your card. then when it is saved, open up TCPMP and click on options - Open file - and find the name of your .wav file and click on it. It should then play.
