I don't know how much stuff you have installed on your phone, but to rule out software issues, it might help to do a hard reset. if that doesn't solve it, then perhaps you have a blown earpiece speaker. I take you have tried toggling up the volume when someone calls to be sure it wasn't too low?

    Hi!

How would I do a hard reset? Sorry I'm not a techy at all. :> Just to clarify, I can hear folks and folks can here me when I use my ear piece just not without.

I have checked volume to make sure it was loud enough.

Have you guys been using the wired headset with your treo?? The contacts sometimes get stuck together and disable your speaker. I believe that when you get a call look to see if you have the speakerphone function on the screen. If it is not there the treo thinks you have a headphone jack plugged in.
You may try to wiggle the jack around in the socket to get the contacts to open up.

Volume care may be a solution here but do a search here and you will find a lot of info on the head phone jack...

Did a HARD RESET and that did not fix the problem... I have also noticed on the screen of treo... the speakerphone button is missing... not there... I too can hear through the head set... when removed, could the phone still think, be hung up that it is in headset mode... and if so, can I toggle out of that somewhere?

    Thanks in advance... JKDC

Did a quick search and found this thread.

When on a call wiggle the headphone plug around in the jack and watch to see if the speakerphone icon appears. When or if it does you should be back in business...

You're right Plunker, Volume Care Pro has the Disable Headset Jack option which sometimes fixes this bypassed earpiece mic.

The above add-on must be purchased along with the regular Volume Care program, you need both.

Sometimes is the key word in that post... downloaded volume care and bypass... it says it is running in Bypass mode but the issue is still there... am I going to have to go to Sprint and have the jack fixed? Say it ain't so!

Unfortunately, if Volume Care Bypass didn't fix the problem, I would say a repair is in order; or an upgrade to a newer model - they don't have that problem with the headset jack.
