BIGGLEN is on a distinguished road
Default Hello to All

Hello from the Republic of Panama ( resident for 14 years) prior Colton, California.
Old US Navy salt, veteran WW2 (5/43-12/46) just hit number 82 last November. I don't beleive that old age makes one wiser, just blessed to live so long.

Anyway, have a problem with my brand new Palm650. I touch memu icons and what appears is something else, not the icon I want. Looks like the icons are frozen.

I need help, so please lend a hand and show me the error of my ways.

Thanks for any help you can give me.
Bigglen

Hey, thanks so much for your reply, HOWEVER, this is my very frist venture into Palm type gadgets, SO, could you break down the above comments, like, how do I calibrate the screen, etc.

Can navagate with 5 way button, yes it works, I select it and it does take me to the right one, thanks for suggestion.

Can you advise me best method to learn how to use the Palm?

Again thanks so much.

Hi:

From the main menu > Preferences > Touchscreen.

Follow the prompts and see if that restores your tapping ability.

And thank you for your service!

More detail..... the button upper left of the 5 way is the app button. Everytime you press it you will go to a different menu, utilities, card, main etc... On the all menu it will show all apps. find prefs and select it, You will have a touchscreen selection and once selected it will direct you to cal. your screen. I hope it works for you.

BTW the button to the upper right of the 5 way will give you pull down menus in the different apps or screens you are in. I believe the palm site has a manual to download if you are interested.

Pin # ??? never heard of that. You might post a new thread so the guys can see your new question. There is a way to password your treo but that is not a pin number

Passwording is app menu, all, security button. to set up a password. I do not use this feature.

Sometimes pin numbers are the last of your phone numbers. This maybe something your carrier is using down there.

On the palm site it mentions pin numbers but they are needed setting up blurtooth connections between devices. When are you getting the prompt? Is your phone on? (holding down the red phone button turns your phone off and on) Are you at the main screen when you dial?

My treo does not use a sim card but it sounds like your card may not be active with your carrier. You might start a new thread asking about the sim error and someone can probably help you. I have a cdma (sprint) no card.
