Exclamation Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey,

Im new to this forum and i really only joined to get info on apps, and to ask you guys whats wrong with my Treo 650:

About a week ago I bought my friends Treo 650, but when i tried to use my SIM card on it, it wouldnt make calls (I use Cingular), so i tried calling cingular to get an unlock code (The treo was originally unlocked when my friend got it and he was using Cingular when he owned it). The girl who was helping me at tech support told me that Cingular wasnt giving unlock codes and that she was going to call AT&T to see if she could get an unlock code from them. AT&T said they werent giving out codes anymore, and the girl told me to take the phone to the Cingular store so they could see if the problem was an old SIM card. I took the phone to the store and they said that they were out of SIM cards and to come back in a few days. So in those few days I went to one of those cell phone stores at the mall to see if i could get it repaired. The guy at the store said that he thinks its an "Internal Software Problem" and that if he could fix it he would (because id pay him to do it).

Tommorow I go to the cingular store to try out newer SIM cards, but i wanted to ask here if anyone thinks they know whats wrong with my Treo, remember:

--I never got an unlock code (but the phone is Cingular, so maybe i dont need one)

--The repair guy said it was an "internal software problem" (everything on the Treo works perfectly except for calls)

--The girl at Cingular Tech support said it might be an old SIM card (somehow i really doubt this is the problem).



Well, that was a lot of typing, so I really hope someone can help me out, I'd really appreciate it.

Just my two cents....you need to go to the store with the attitude <don't be nasty> but, they have somewhat of a responsibility to help you make this work. I would say to them, "This phone works on your service, I want it to work, what do we need to do?" For what we pay for service, you should expect service, and not just when it's easy.

That's how I run my business. Everyone deserves to get top notch service...until they tick me off.
