HELP! crashing, won't turn back on!

HELP!

I am a new Treo user. Just bought the 650 a few weeks ago. No problems thus far until now. I set up the treo to work with my work email, microsoft outlook client, and it worked fine using the wireless sync and thier email software.

Until now....after i connect to the network by turning the phone on using the red button, it crashes after a few minutes and the screen is black and nothing i can do will turn it back on unless i take the battery out and put it back in. i think the problem is the email wireless sync. I got an email, with 8mb of attachments, and hit download all by accident yesterday. now ever since then, its not updating the sync right now then the crashing problem happened. if i have the device on but not connected to the network, everything is fine, it doesnt crash so i think the problem is the email....

what do i do? i'm new so i don't know a lot. do i delete the email account and re set it up? how do i even do that? is it redownloading all the attachments and maxing out the memory and hard disk? how do i even check my hard disk to see if it is full or the memory?

You need a program like filez to go into and delete some of your files. I believe they are asc1,2,3,4 type files.(seach here will tell you the files) Once you have deleted the files (that are not protected) You will have to reset up your mail account. I am not sure if this will fix your problem or not.

Have you tried a soft reset? Remove the back of phone (battery compartment) and use your stylus to push the reset button in. If the soft reset does not fix it then I would delete the files above. If you still have problems you may have to do a hard reset. Let us know what works for you.

will a soft reset delete all my emails, contacts and SMS msgs?


i've been wathcing it closely now...i did a manual email check/sync.... took at least 5 mintues for it to start with the authorization procress....

now it is hanging after it says:

it hasn't gone blank this time since ive been moving the scroll bar up and down to keep it from going to locked but now the scroll bar isnt even moving. it is definitely locked now.

what do you think?

You will not lose anything in a soft reset. I had an e-mail that when I tried to delete my phone would reboot. I deleted the asc files (I think that was the files) and reset up my e-mail account settings. It has worked since then.
