HELP! how do I backup my sms for Treo 650?
Hi,
can anyone help me? I would like to know how do I back up my sms or my call log from my Treo 650? I've done a HotSync, but then it only back up the contacts & appts.
Thank you very much!

Unless you have set your conduits to only bakup contacts and calender the hot sync should back up everything. I think you posted on having trouble with the call log so that maybe causing your problems...

Why do you think you don't have a backup of the SMSs? If you look in your backup folder on the PC, do you see a file called "SMS_.pdb" or possibly "SMS_Msg_Database.PDB"? There could be several.
Or you could look at a program like TreoDesktop.

Help
Hi Steve,
I'm using the CD that comes together with the Treo 650, but i can't find the backup folder on my PC. Where should I find it?
Or do you have a better backup program?
thank you

Hi charleen:
By default the backup folder is usually on the C drive (unless you modified that or your main drive is a different letter). For example.....
C:\Program Files\palmOne\Your User Name\Backup
I am not sure what you mean, a better backup program. The Palm backup is a fine utility, but does have limitations and that can be enhanced by add-on utilities depending on what you are looking to do.
The TreoDesktop program is a donationware utility that you should consider. This allows you to actually view your SMS and phone data in a readable format on your PC. You might get a better comfort level if you can actually see your SMS data. Note that this does not replace the Palm back-up utility. It works in conjunction with it. You actually perform your sync and then run TreoDesktop.
You should read through the information on their website to get an understanding of what this will do and won't do.
Only you can decide if it will be of help to your situation.
I hope this helps a bit more......
