Help me Treo 650 gurus. I am truly stuck!
Please...I need help urgently. My Treo 650 battery just died.
It is dead dead dead. Will not even charge.
I can't use my phone even with the AC adapter plugged in.
I removed the battery completely and plugged in AC charger and turned it on and it came on. I thought great! But unfortunately, it went into auto shutdown sequence in 30 seconds and gave a message that the battery is low.
How can I bypass this until tomorrow morning when I can go and get a new battery?
I need to use the phone on AC power adapter only. I even tried using the car charger only with the exact same results.
Is there some way I can disable the low battery message and/or disable the auto shutdown sequence temporarily?
Take your battery completely out of your Treo650, then plug in your home or car charger and try to turn the phone on. You will see the same auto shutdown message I get. How do I get pass that or temporarily disable it so I can use the phone on home charger for tonight?
Pllllleeeeease help me. I need to use my phone this evening and tonight.
Thanks soo much in advance for ANY suggestions.

Mine does not work without the battery either. No Ideas but I searched palm site for trouble shooting:
Battery won't recharge
These troubleshooting steps apply only to devices with built-in rechargeable batteries. If your device uses AAA alkaline batteries, do not install rechargeable batteries. Charging tips
Is the power adapter plugged in correctly? Make sure that it's hooked up to an active power outlet, and that all connections are secure. Is your device securely connected? Very lightly wiggle the connection between your device and the charging cable/cradle. If it doesn't feel secure, try removing the device and connecting it again.
Does your device think it's charging?Verify that your device is charging: look at the battery meter at the top of the Applications Launcher screen. It displays a "lightning bolt" symbol over the battery when it's charging. Have you tried a soft reset? If your device won't turn on, or if it's experiencing other problems, a soft reset may be in order.
Have you tried an in-cradle reset? You may need to do this to reset the charging circuitry. Learn about the in-cradle reset.
Are you ready for a hard reset? A hard reset will erase all the data on your handheld, but it might be necessary to alleviate problems caused by third-party applications or other causes.
If after trying the above your device still won't charge, contact Product Support.
My battery loses its charge very quickly
Like all Lithium Ion batteries, the battery in your device will eventually wear out. If you charge your device fully but it loses power after a few hours (or sooner), it may be time to replace the internal battery. Arrange for a repair. For best results, don't let your battery fully drain before recharging. Lithium Ion batteries last longer if you "top them off" frequently.

Plunker, thanks for giving it a shot.
Did your treo even power on with only the AC adapter?
Did it start the 30 second auto shutdown sequence as well?
Guess what......My dell axim x50 battery works in the treo to power it on BUT it does the same thing and starts the auto shutdown sequence.
I think it should be something quite simple to disable the auto shutdown sequence or to trick the treo that the battery is in it.
If we can figure this out, then we can all use cheaper dell axim x50v batteries in the treo. The axim batteries are also much higher mah as well so they will have a longer battery life. The longest life treo batteries I see are the seido 2400mah but the axim x50 has batteries over 3400mah already. The battery size, voltage and connectors are IDENTICAL to the treo battery.
Hmmmmm. we may be on to something here....

Yes my treo powered up with just the a/c charger but I got a message that it was going to start shutting down.

Anyone in Florida wants to sell me a battery? I can pay by Paypal. If you ship out on Monday morning early I should get it in Florida by Monday evening or Tuesday morning.

I have not looked at, but best buy, circuit city, office max might carry batteries and are open usually some hours today. In fact every mall I have been to has those cell stands everywhere.
Radio Shack also carries the treo phone.

While I cannot guarantee you'll have it Tuesday, our store does ship from Florida -- so it's quite possible.
Palm Extra Battery
Good luck.
