I can help, but your not going to like it . . . You will need to perform a hard reset . . .
This will return your treo to its factory install, and delete everything you have installed to this point. You might not be out of the woods however. If something is corrupt in your install, when you sync back, it might happen again. If it does, you can remove those items from the desktop, but we will worry about that one once you get your device reset . . . .

First thing I would try is re-booting your PC, and then try to sync once more. But your Treo shouldn't be turning off when you tell it to sync. That one concerns me . . Since its a fresh install, and you have only pulled apps from the CD, I would probably uninstall the desktop app, reboot once more, and then re-install it. At that point I would suggest you look into back up programs, and uninstallers. There are many out there that can save you the pain you are experiencing. Problems like reset loops are never fun, but having a handy back up can make them a lot less painful . . .

ok i tried the zero out reset, now my screen is 4 layers, red then green, blue and white...it says bootload v 0.22 at the top left.....is this right?
-
No, Zero reset is VERY tricky. When you get the colors, you haven't performed it correctly. Unfortunately, it's not easy to do...and REQUIRES two people's hands to push everything correctly. Nice try...keep trying! You'll get it. Took me about 4 tries before I got it to go. You'll know when you get it. If you have the manual or find one online, it should tell you exactly how to do it, and what order to do it in. If you don't do it EXACTLY as it tells you, it won't give you a Zero reset. Good luck!

all it really says is hold the red power button, hold the up button, hold the hotsync button and push the reset button while holding the other 3....am i reading it wrong? ive done it 50 times and still havent got it
