Exclamation HELP! Treo 650 won't turn on!

I left my Treo plugged in for a few hours this evening and I just now checked it to discover that it is not powering on at all. I'm not sure if it was functioning properly when I first plugged it in (I didn't check to see if the charge light was lit as usual).

The phone won't power on by pressing any buttons on the front face, and the reset button doesn't work at all. Moreover, when I plug the charger into a functional power outlet and plug in the phone, the red charge LED doesn't come on, and the phone still doesn't function.

I've had the phone since the end of June of last year, and this is the first time it has ever given me problems like this. It was functioning as it should even this afternoon, so I don't know what could have possibly caused it to die like this.

Is there any way I can diagnose the hardware to determine if it could be the battery, charger, or the phone itself that is dead? Can you actually use the Treo 650 if it is plugged in and not containing the battery? If that's the case, then I guess it's the phone.

Please help me out; I'm in a state of panic!

i've not had that particular scenario but have had occasional times when pressing buttons seemed to have confused the little bug so much so it wouldn't turn on at all. interestingly pressing the sd card in and out did the trick!

    don't know if that helps...

    hope you get fixed soon.

    Hello datek2517,

This is Kevin from Palm. Difficult to say what the source of the issue might be. Removing and replacing the SD might work, you never know. A similar situation happened to me once and I pulled the battery out for a few seconds, replaced it and the device jump started. Beyond that, try all the troubleshooting steps in the Palm Knowledge Library article "Handheld won't turn on, or screen blank/unreadable".

    Sincerely
    Kevin
