[Help!] VoiceMail Indicator Keeps Showing 1 Message When There Isn't One.

I am with Verizon and have a Treo 650 that i just purchased today. For some reason it keeps showing that I have 1 VoiceMail in the VM button area, but when I check my messages I don't have any new or old ones.

I know it's not a text message because it's specifically in the VoiceMail button. So how can I get this to stop and show the accurate information rather than a constant phantom voicemail.

Well I thought the same thing you did..........for awhile. I finally discovered that the (1) in the voicemail favotite is the number (1) it is default set from Verizion. It ia the # 1 on your keypad to shortcut getting voicemail. It triggers the voice mail call.

I love my Treo 650 but am dissapointed with the signal strength. It is NOT as good as the Motorola T720 I used to use.

he is right. If you change the quick key to "P" it will read Voicemail (P). That is an indication that is the Quick Key to check your voicemail. now if you have the envelope icon that inidicates voicemail and no messages, there is a "Clear Voicemail Icon" function on the phone prefs.

Actually, there are no voicemails. Trust me, I had the same exact problem and spent almost an hour on the phone with verizon just to find out that there really wasn't a problem but simply a mis-interpretation on my part. The 1 is there as a favorite button to tell you that you would use the number 1 to dial your voicemail, it's not an indicator to the amount of messages you have waiting.

The only voicemail indicator is the little envelope that shows up on the upper right hand corner of the screen.

I thought i was finally saved. I have a new treo 650 from verizon and the little envelope icon won't go away even though there are no messages. I finally found a "welcome" message on media sms and deleted and thought I found my problem but no luck. I could not find a "clear message indicator" in the phone pref either. help?

If you go to your phone screen (dial pad or pic background) bring up the menus. Go to Options, Phone options and there is a button that says "Clear Voicemail Icon".

My options from the phone pad are general, sound, and phone preferences and I cant find a "clear" in any of them. I am pretty sure I am in the right screen?
