anyone? ?
My boss is having some issues with Gmail on his Treo
If we set him up on gmail with IMAP he gets a ridiculous amount of mail and can delete it but when he re-syncs the phone it downloads it all again.
so now i set him up with a separate account ( pointing to the same place) but as a pop account. This is working fine but some emails just don't come in. I send a test email from my account and it comes in but then someone else in the same domain will send an email and it wont come in, but it will show up in the "inbox" of the web interface so it wasn't blocked by gmail. I cant really find a ryme or reason for what its trying to do
the basic reqirements he gave me is that he only wants to see the last week or twos worth of email but no have it delete anything of the main server.
I'm very new to the palm os and have no idea whats going on . I see that there are two applicatons "mail" and "Email" Email i belive is called versamail but im not entirly sure.
Does anyone know either how to say "don't show any emails that are 2 weeks or older" using imap. or how to figure out why some emails are not makeing it in pop
Thanks
Robert

With IMAP you just gotta sync the device with X number of days. Now, I did not use VersaSmell, so good luck there. However, ChatterEmail does support GMail and is still available, though not for much longer. Is there a setting in your email application to sync X number of days back? If not, after the initial sync life should be good.
The problem you are seeing is that GMail is not a standard mail server. You delete and really not delete. With POP, once you see it, it is deleted from the server UNLESS you can find a setting to LEAVE it on the server. And with GMail's method of handling messages, well your application has to be able to handle it and I do not believe the 650's VersaSmell is able to do that. IMAP syncs your messages so that what you see on the server is what you see on your device is what you see...see what I mean. Another email application that may be worth looking at is Snapper 3.x - http://snappermail.com/.
Good luck.
