AOL for Treo 650 referenced in this thread should be compatible with your Cingular Treo 650.

Treo 650 and IM

I have had a 650 for several months and just found Verichat, but I'm not sure I understand what they mean by "data connection" .... when you say in your statement above that it's considered data and counts towards your data plan .... do you mean it falls within my Sprint Vision Plan (I have unlimited access for web and email). I just want to be sure I'm not running up some type of extra charge with Sprint for some "data" connection. I did install Verichat last night and it works perfectly!! Really a nice little program! And it runs in the background even while checking mail ... and notifies me when a chat comes in.
Also, I saw where someone was having calls that go straight to voice mail. I have the same problem in many instances. The Sprint rep told me that if I was on the web or checking mail when a call came in, that it would give me the option to take the call. Mine does not do that, but just goes straight to voice mail many times without even ringing. I have a versamail pop account and I have the ActiveExchange mail for my corporate email. I saw somewhere on one of these forums where a suggestion was made to change some settings on the 650 -- go to "prefs" in the main menu, then "network" and then "preferences" and to check the box that said "connect to the data network whenever the phone is powered on" .... I do not have that box checked and never have. Do you know what is correct with a Sprint PCS Vision account? I just want to be sure I'm not connecting to some type of Sprint data service that will charge me some outrageous price. Any advice or suggestions will be greatly appreciated! I'm still learning!

I was searching the palm site on the 650 sprint treo and your calls go to voice mail if you are on the net or checking mail. Other apps you can answer your calls. Sorry.

Text Messages or (SMS) and Picx&Flix (MMS) are part of your standard Verizon Plan and not part of the data package.

What about Google Talk? Will Verichat work with that, too?
UPDATE:
I just found this: http://www.everythingtreo.com/d/revi...p-20051119174/
I saw on another site that Google Talk can be used with Chatopus. Looks complicated to set up, though.

Verichat or Mundu connection loss
I have a Treo 650 through verizon and i've downloaded both Verichat as well as Mundu. Both programs act the same way, if you leave the phone and the display screen turns off the connection gets lost even with the always on setting on using verichat. Can someone help please..let me know if there is a way around this. email me at miuliani@optonline.net
Thank you
