help with instant messaging

hi everyone. i just recently got a treo 650.
i wanted to do some instant messaging on it, but there was no application that i could find.
could soemone help me find it?
or tell me how and where i should download an application so i can use AIM.

I'd suggest you check out VeriChat. It allows for IM using any of the popular instant messaging clients - AOL, MSN and Yahoo. Very cool program and works well with the Treo.

Wouldn't mind this one. It looks great! I'll put it on my shopping list as it keeps on growing. At least there aren't any usage charges beyond the software purchase! My shopping list is getting a little long and expensive.

you can also try toccer . it is free and works pretty good. it does take a toll on your battery though, so be prepared.

Thanks! Anything that is free. Love it. Hate paying BIG companies for stuff. Expecially one like Sprint. It's not that their service or anything is bad. The cha_chinging will kill ya. I'll check this one out. The little guys are always ok in my book. That's how I made it to where I am today. I'll never be as large as the BIG guys and never forget my roots.:cool:

when u use instant messenger on ur treo, do u need internet plan for that ? or does that consider as a text?

Yes, it's considered data and counts towards your data plan.

listen to these guys and get verichat. i bit the bullet and downloaded the program. was mad at first because i thought it only supported msn and yahoo..but after setting an account i saw you could set up AIM and IRC too. awesome.

the only thing that irks me is that you have to pay every year to renew? :dry:

hey check out that new AOL program for the treo 650...i just bought it and its great..it lets me check my AOL mail and chat on AIM...great program for only $20.00
