LOL. Deleting the original post now that it's been quoted won't do you any good. Well, that is, unless the mods decide to delete my post with the quotes.
J/K. No bad intentions, really.

Sorry to bring up and old thread, but I find it funny that so many people here automatically assume that because someone wants to hide something on their treo, that they are trying to hide it from a significant other.
None of have friends or family members that want to see your treo?
I do, and I let them see it because they have never seen one before.
They want to watch videos I've downloaded or listen to music. or just play with it.
That doesn't mean I want them to see private photos I may have taken.

good to see this thread rearing its ugly head again. i was notified by my email thingy.
in response to pool_shark, the answer is that lots of people DO want to hide stuff and that's why they ask. (see Kreth's response and just hang around for a while). if that's not you then there's no need to feel condemned or accussed. moreover there was a large amount of humour involved in most of the responses that seems to have escaped some readers. and some fairly significant editting of posts in retrospect.
i do agree however that the treo is fun to show off and that there are photos, images and files you might not want everyone seeing; i'm a physician and have some clinical images on my treo as well as research papers and teaching topics which aren't exactly U material. the answers i gave to the original question cover my means of submerging them.
so i hope we're all still friends here? randyw and i exchanged emails and (i hope) parted on good terms. i hope pool_shark feels the same.
best wishes,
ffolliet

I wasn't upset at all, I just didn't see the need to accuse someone of lying to their partner just because they wanted to hide images on the device.
It just doesn't appear to me that the original responses were meant to be funny. If they were intended to be funny then we clearly have a different sense of humor.

I think that, often, things that appear online are taken literally, because it's sometimes hard to convey what we'd do verbally with tone of voice or by adding facial expressions. I just re-read the entire thread and I can see how my post could have been taken wrong, as probably was. I don't think anyone was being mean-spririted, but the subject has come up a million times, as people have pointed out. As far as I know, we're all friends here. I know it's the biggest thing that drew me to this Treo forum over the others.

I think as long as we *try* to make the necessary attempts to swallow our pride and explain ourselves and maybe even apologize, that even when misunderstandings occur that they can *usually* be rectified. It takes a lot for someone to make the first step in addressing or acknowledging something and I think most of us will understand. I am first to admit that I can be wrong a lot of times too. The problem usually happens when no one will make that first step.

All friends here. No problems at all except just need to get paid more for working less and the world would be right.
btw,,for those that are interested. Mulitple SD cards is the way to go to alleviate this problem and the answer to my question. :laugh3:
