various thoughts come to mind when i see posts like this and the delete sms list questions. i hope you take this in the gentle spirit in which it is intended as you are asking us to be complicit in your subterfuge.

    1. when does someone else have access to your phone?
    2. if that person has access to your phone, why is there stuff you need to hide from them?
    3. what would that person say if they knew you were asking this question?
    4. if you are that afraid of someone having access to your phone AND they are clearly searching in a more than random manner aren't there more important questions to be asked than this?

a simple way is to hide the icon. ChangeMe or somesuch

why not simply have the secret images on a separate sd?

further progression i'd suggest the best way is to name it something that doesn't raise (any further) suspicion, move it to the card and put it in the wrong directory; the palm won't open it in your media collection and when you feel the need, you can move it around.

i wasn't aware of a method of hiding contacts either. but probably the same questions could be asked.

First I guess my best bet would be to put these on an SD card. My attempt is to mark business pictures as private just as you can do with contacts. This will keep them "hidden" so that my children do not accidentally delete them when playing with my phone. As for the SMS questions, this interited work phone and has a list that I don't use.

Secondly this was not posed to have anyone be "complicit in my subterfuge" as you put it. It was an attempt to have a question answered in a forum regarding Treo 650's. I did not know this was a psychology forum. Also when you use a term such as "take this in the gentle spirit in which it is intended", that usually means you shouldn't say it.

you can also try a new app that is in beta right now call secure app by toysoft. It allows you to set what apps people can see and control them what they can see and do on your phone.

In general, the question of how to hide pics/SMS history comes up fairly often on this forum (and others). And usually, it is in the context of hiding said entries from a significant other.

    ffolliet:

I understood your response immediately and agreed with your "gentle spirit" disclaimer. Others should have taken your humorous and well-thought out answer in the light it was intended.
