Hotsync to a new computer?
I have a Treo 650, and having to reinstall windows on my notebook. I have a few programs on my treo that require getting updates from the internet during hotsync. I hotsynced to my desktop, so I can have everything backed up when I reinstall windows on my notebook. However, when I did this, it doesnt get the updates. I originally installed everything from my notebook, and I want to make sure when I reinstall windows, this will not be a problem. Any suggestions? Please help!

I'm a little confused by the question. You've run a hotsync, so all of your programs are on your Palm. You're reinstalling Windows (which is going to clear out your PC)? Then, you're going to reinstall Palm Desktop and hotsync everything back?
When is not connecting?
Sorry, I'm just not sure which question(s) you're asking.

OK. Basically I did a test run on my desktop with hotsyncing it to a different computer that I usually do. I have a few programs on my treo that require retrieving updates from the internet. But when I hotsynced to a new computer, it only syncronized the address book, datebook, etc. It would not retrieve updates from the internet (I have epocrates, a ************ drug program, and a few other programs that require updates from the internet). I hope this makes sense. Its not a treo specific question, but I didnt know where else to post. Thanks for any guidance.

I would reinstall the apps that call to the Internet. You have software installed on your Treo, but you probably need the conduits. Try reinstalling - that should resolve your problem.

It's a pain, but I'm glad to hear it worked out. It's really a pain when you go down the road and it doesn't end happily.

I am about to the point where I want to thrown my computer and treo out the window. its so frustrating having to reinstall windows. i was having problems with my notebook dvd burner, and of course the customer service tech support are always so quick to have you restore the system. I have spent the past 2 days trying to reload all my software.
