| How do I get Maoquest Mobile on my Treo 650 I need some help. I want to get Mapquest Mobile on my Treo 650. I have an unlocked phone and Cingular is my carrier. Is there anyway to get Mapquest mobile onto my phone. I DON'T have a data plan (GASP). I just want to get the app on my phone and text myself the directions. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

| Directions without a data plan I don't think there's any way to get Mapquest with out data but...if you send a text to 46645 (that's g-o-o-g-l), you can get them. Text something like "directions from 123 elm st., dallas tx to 456 13th st., phila. pa and you'll get text messages with the directions in seconds.

MapQuest has an AvantGo channel that would update at Hotsync.

| Me too. Dir Asst's one of the most-used, most valuable apps on my Treo.

| There's an app called KMaps that works pretty well too. You're going to have to load a java app along with it though.

| Thanks for the replies guys. I would love to be able to use Directory Assistant. I have seen alot of good things about it. Like I said, I don't have a data plan though. It is just more than I can afford right now and in all reality is not a huge priority for me.
From what I read I don't need an internet connection for Mapquest Mobile. I just need to have the software loaded and then I can text message the directions to myself. Unfortunately all of the installation instructions have you going to a proprietary media connection to download. My phone is an unlocked model so I do not have the propietary MEdia Net and such.
I have tried AvantGo and just didn't like all of the clutter of the channels and such. I just want driving directions.
I looked at KMaps as well, but need an internet connection.

| Is there anyway to get rid of the stupid preview channel and the ads on AvantGo?
Is there no Mapquest Mobile .prc file that could be installed?
