Your phone will automatically break them up.....but when you send them they will go through just fine.....

Is tehre a reason you don't want it being sent as two messages or more?

I'm having this same issue, but it only suddenly started for me yesterday. I can now not type any more than 160 characters when I write a text message.

I've tried a whole bunch of things, hard resets and even re-running the firmware update, all to no success.

A question for you though, did you receive a text message recently that came from 'Unknown' and had no actual message? It's since I received one like this that my problems began

Default Extend your SMS messages past 160 characters

Not sure how to resolve your problem. There is a third party solution called funSMS 5.

It goes without saying that you can also send messages to multiple recipients. Multi-line messages raise the restriction to 160 characters which usually applies to SMS messages.

If I come across an answer using the standard hardware, I'll let you know...

Thanks Chris, I appreciate your suggestion.

It's just that it was working perfectly fine up until 2 days ago and there's no logical reason for it that I can find. I'd hate to have to find a 3rd party solution when it was working as it should.

Despite replacing the ROM again and doing several hard resets, it is still stuck at sending only single messages of 160 chars.

Still hunting..
