How do I tell if my Treo 650 is reallly unlocked?
I just got my Treo 650 from a seller on Ebay saying it was unlocked. It came delivered unbranded, but it was in a cingular box. The seller on ebay had perfect feedback from all his Treo 650 customers, about 100 of them so I have no reason to doubt it is unlocked. But...before I hope on a plane to Europe with nothing but his word, how can I really tell?
If I put in a T-Mobile and CIingular sim card, will this let me know? Or is unlocked a phone for American networks one level and totally globally unlocking it another? THanks for your helps!

You just need to put in different SIM cards and you'll know if it works or not with different cards. It will either work with both cards or it will tell you that it cannot connect to carrier if the phone is in fact locked.

I just put in a cingular sim and a Tmobile SIM
Both work great!
So does mean the phone is totally unlocked? Cause I had an old sony ericson that was unlocked for US carriers but not for European and Global carriers.
I just dont want to go to Europe and have this phone not work on their SIM cards.

Based on the feedback, your experience using both T-Mobile and Cingular SIM cards, I'd say that you have an unlocked Treo 650. You mentioned that it came in a Cingular box -- does it have a Cingular logo on the Treo 650?

The Phone itself does not have a Cingular logo on it. There is no logo on the top left and it has the treo logo on the top right.

I'd say you have no worries. Enjoy your trip to Europe and let us know how you fare with the unlocked Treo.
