Default how does one save preferences eg background?

seems an obvious question and have searched around the fora but can't find an answer.

how does one save preferences so that after a soft reset (usually after using real player-grrr) the background picture remains the same?

my background pic is on the treo (not sd) and all other prefs seem preserved but the pic defaults to the snow/ice scene. any ideas?

I haven't run into that problem since I started using BackupMan, but have you seen this thread?

Hi guys,
kdallen is right on the money.
By the way, I have never had a problem with Real Player? Mine works flawless.

thanks for the tip on backing up preferences.

my question is, "why?" didn't have to do that on previous treo i was using.

on the real player issue: yes, it works well. what annoys me is that (somehow) after running rp, the key sound (pop) is activated and can only be dis-activated by resetting the whole thing. and this happened on previous treo.

Yeah, actually, it was. And the pop you're talking about...I just used RealPlayer to play a song and I got it too. I don't have a background pic on my phone but it didn't affect my Zlauncher background. It did, however, add the system sound, which I have always had switched off in Prefs. I've had the sound issue occasionally with certain files in TCPMP. I hadn't thought much about it before because I was having some other problems (thought they were network-related) that had me resetting several times a day intentionally. Possibly something to do with some audio codecs?

Default I was jinxed!!!

Not long after my last post, I got a phone call. Don't know if it was RealPlayer but...I hadn't reset my phone yet so I had the annoying key tones every time I hit the 5-way and my phone didn't ring when the call came in! D*mned RP! I knew there was a reason I bought pTunes the day I got my Treo.

Do you think there is a reason that Pocket Tunes is the player on the 700P and RP is no where to be found??
