Default How Long Have You Had Your Treo 650

Hi everyone. I am new to this forum. I have had my Treo since October 2006. I had the Kyocera 7135 for a long time. I had the Pocket Pc versions of these devices and I have to say maybe except for the graphics and a few other things I love Palm software better. I have found it is a lot more stable due to the fact that I manipulate the software and programs by moving stuff around and it has always been more stable for me. How long have you had yours ? How many programs you think you have? I have about 850 on the device and a 2 gig SD, and yes I use them all, just not at the same time. Talking about a crash, huh? I have about 31 Sd's (128, 256, 520, 1 gig and 2 gigs that I have collected for years). I have about 200 to 300 programs on two of those disks. I have lots of saved programs, movies, music, and games. You name it as far as a program, I probably have it. Lots I bought and some are demos and lots are free. Am I a nut or a fanatic? Don't know, I just know it is my computer in a house with other people and bigger computers. I love the convenience of having my computer when I want it and HEY it fits in my pocket. Tell me some things about your Treo 650. And yes let me hear about your other Treo's. Ok I am sitting here on the bigger computer seeing who will answer me. Have a great evening.:laugh3:

I've had mine about 18 months. But its not mine anymore. Its the Wifes! I recently moved to a 680! My first Palm device was a III. I LOVED it! When it died, I moved to a IIIc. After it died, I went with a Handspring Visor Prism with the Phone Module add-on. That was so cool! Not only could I sync stuff with my PC, but now I could use it as a phone and surf the net, and even grab my mail over the air. It died too! Went with a Tungsten E and a Nokia phone. It wasn't the same. . . . . . . . When I moved to the Treo 650, I started combing the net looking for info. Wound up here! Learned so much about Palm OS that I didn't have a clue on! When I am home, I wear my laptop out! When I am not, my Palm is either at my side, or in my hand!

Apps? 850? Use them all? Rock on my friend! I have several, but nothing close to 850! I love Chatter, and zLauncher! I like everything else that is on my card, and if I don't like it, I get rid of it! A couple of neat ones I am messing with right now includes 4-info, and Boopsie. QuickNews is one I enjoy also. For Movies, The Core Movie Player. For streaming radio, Munduradio and p-tunes. IM+ for staying in touch! Resco Viewer for my slideshows! Quickipedia for when I want to know something! Google-maps or Directory assistant for figuring out where I am going! These just some highlights!

I started with a Kyocera 6135, then the Treo 300, 600, 650, 700w, 700p. I found the best of the group to be the 600 and 700p. I was a very early buyer of the 600 when it became available 2,500 miles west of somewhere in the middle of nowhere. I had the 650 for 3 months then went with the 700p, the wife getting the 650. The 700w used only for work, it was sold off.

I use mine mainly for work, spending hours a day with HanDBase and about an hour or so per day with Documents to Go or MobiSystems Office 7 (same function, same program, same files, just a different feel). I rarely surf the net, though I do use a number of applications to get information from various sites.

Google Maps, ChatterEmail, ZLauncher, HanDBase, DTG, MobiSystems, Launch-Anywhere, mobileClock, TakePhone, 2Day, 4Cast, Resco Backup, Northglide utilities, just to name a few.

Incidentally, where I go, the Treo goes. I do a nightly backup with Resco Backup, a daily backup via Bluetooth to an Acer 17" laptop running Windows Home Premium. The wife says the 17" laptop (screen) is a monster compared to her Mac (and the other laptops on the network); however, the ability to see bunches of information at one time is what I like.

I started out with an IBM Workpad (IBM's branded Palm device), then a IIIx, Tungsten E, and moved to the Treo around January of last year. For apps, I have all of the stuff in my sig, and I've probably tried dozens of others.
