This is a discussion on How Much Available Memory Do You Have? within the Treo Smartphones forums; Just curious how much space everyone is able to get away with. I'm at 7.1MB available....

    Question How Much Available Memory Do You Have?

    Just curious how much space everyone is able to get away with.

    I'm at 7.1MB available.

    I have 6.1MB available -- that fluctuates as I'm always installing and deinstalling apps.

    11.5 free here, but I do also run some of my games and apps right off of my SD card. Movie player, NES emulator, Bejeweled, Bounce Out, Alchemy...all off the card


    But I'm probably getting Volumecare, and Zlauncher soon so I'll have less room soon

    I have 16.8mb available. I have mostly everything on the SD card. I try to keep the most amount of free space available as I can because I really want LJP (SNES, NES, Sega Genesis emulator) and PalmMame Emulator to work great. I keep the space freed up for UDMH so it could do it's thing for these emulators.

    On my Treo I only have:
    KeyDateTime
    zLauncher
    UDMH
    PalmMame
    LJP
    Technician
    PolyNote
    Splash Shopper
    PocketTunes

    On my SD card I have:
    Date Mate
    Filez
    Hellfire
    Resco View
    Resco Back Up
    TCPMP (the best movie player ever)
    SpaceBlast (best asteroids clone on the palm, sounds and all)
    a bunch of video files
    MP3s
    and a crap load of ROMs

    Its the need for desktop sync that really kills my space. My hogs in ram that need to sync are:

    -2action Meeting(348K)
    -Day Notez (417K)
    -WomanPlus (248K)
    -BugMe (616K)
    -Life Balance (580K)
    -Bonsai (563K)
    -iSilo (I know it can move to the card and still sync, but I usually have pTunes in the background, and it just works better direct on ram).
    -Leonard Maltin Movie Guide (299K)- this is after moving the db to card.
    -SmartList to Go (819K)
    -SplashPhoto (346K)
    -ZLauncher (2MB) -no sync, but obviously must be in Ram.
    -WinHand Anywhere (361K) does not work from card
    -PocketTunes (624K) won't play in the background from sd card
    -QuickNews (526K)- wont auto update from sd card.


    Best space saving solutions:
    - AgendusPro (built into custom rom)
    -Snapper (built into custom rom)
    -Documents to Go (use dataviz tech tool to store on card)
    -SplashMoney (use Zlauncher to move and sync from card)
    -SplashID (use Zlauncher to move and sync from card)
    -Keep everything else on the card using PowerRun

    Lulu I like the idea of putting agendus in a custom ROM.....

    I have still not tackled a custom ROM due to the fact I can't seem to make up my mind what I want on it!

    I have 10.8MB and 51% on my 1gig card. I also have another 1gig card chock full of music and audio books for long trips......

    The custom rom was a task... I just picked the apps that I felt I wouldn't need to update... in other words the apps that I am most happy with in their current state.

    I have 17.5 available and 148.4M on my card. its only a 248M card. Where and how much are the 1Gig card? I want to put music on it. How much can you put on a 1G card? I have a 20G ipod and am only using about 1.5 G on there so can it be safe to say I can fit almost all my songs on there? Also how do I do it? Do I just drag the music into the card file then hook the card to the reader? If thats the case. Doesnt sound too hard. Then do I just put the card in the Treo and it will play automaticlly on Real Player? So much to learn haha Thanks guys you are wonderful! :cool:
