    Default How to append an incoming call no into an existing record.

    I have an incoming no on my call records. Is there a shorter way to add it into an existing phone book entry than going into phone records using copy phone no and then going into the phone book, search for the said record and paste it in ?

    If you were using TakephOne, all you'd have to do is scroll down to the incoming phone number and hit your Option buttons and click on "Save As New Contact". TakephOne is soooo worth buying.

    dollface, I think what plainman is asking is about adding that number to an EXISTING contact and I don't think there is a better way to do it. Does TakePhone handle updating existing contacts who get new numbers differently?

    I have the same issue with my BlackBerry. As a matter of fact a cousin from out of town called with a new cell and I had to do the copy, open the existing contact and paste to get the updated cell inserted in place of his old one.

    My 650 worked that way and so does my BB. It is almost like the software authors think no one is supposed to change their numbers or move! :gasp:

    <sigh>

    Whoa Steve.................... your Blackberry??? I really missed something here, when did you get that?

    As far as TakephOne adding a new number from the incoming call list to an existing contact, why yes, it can do that. Highlight the incoming number and press the Option button and click Add as New Contact, on that next screen at the top, click "Add To" and it takes you to the Find screen in TakephOne where you can type in the two initials of the first and last name of your contact where you want the number to land. It then opens that contact screen with lines for home, cell, fax, email, etc for that contact; You just scroll down to where you want to put the number and press the middle button on the 5 way and it inserts the number there.

    You should really get TakephOne Steve,...................... oh wait, you can't, you got a Blackberry. :tounge:

    Hi dollface:

    I have posted many mentions of the BB acquisition, but this was the start of it all.

    I hope this doesn't denigrate your opinion of me.....I still like to keep in touch with the Treo crowd as you never know what tomorrow will bring. It's not like I can turn off three years of experience with the 650 either.

    I am still also very curious to see where Palm is headed and what the Linux based devices will bring in Spring 2009 (Nova?).

    Can I stay, huh? Can I, huh, please??????? :cool:

    EDIT: And sorry for the thread hijack. We now return you to our program, already in progress.....
