Default How to Dump Outlook from Treo?

Looking back these past several years, I'm not sure why I ever made the mistake of switching from Palm's Desktop software to Outlook for phone numbers, addresses and notes. But I really hate how clumsily the Outlook conduit works with the Treo. BIrthdays get triple copied or deleted altogether randomly, alarms get dissed, email addresses get added inappropriately, etc.

Having switched to Thunderbird for email, etc, my preference is to completely dump Outlook but I haven't because the Treo needs it for address and phone number synchronization. There does not appear to be a straightforward way to switch back.

Is there an easy way to:
1) switch back to the Palm Desktop software, completely uncoupling from Outlook, while...
2) maintaining all of one's addresses, appointments, appointment alarms etc.so that...
3) the Palm Desktop gets all the addresses, phone numbers, appointments that are stored on the Treo?

Default Thank you for your help

Thank you for your response. This was actually a much more straightforward proceedure than anticipated --for anyone else who is looking to get away from Outlook, the only trick is that the user must depend on the installation CD for the removal of the Outlook conduit, rather than manually removing any software, as clearly explained in the instructions provided in the above link.

There's actually a separate app on the CD, called Outlook Switcher, but in general it's easier to throw in the CD and run it that way.
