I can't get access to my call log.

Whenever I try to gain access to my Call Log function, my treo 650 will re-start itself.

You have some corrupt data or have installed some 3rd party software that has caused a conflict.....there is a way to delete your data with filez or a program db something that may help you. Do a search here and you should find the program.

If you do not have a lot of stuff on your phone that you do not care if you lose it a hard reset will clear everything off. You might try a soft reset to see if that will clear it up before you try anything else.

this is a first time deal for me. i registered for the forum because my treo is also resetting when i hit the call log button. what should i type in the search?

(i tried "program to help 650 treo call log reset" and some variations but nothing came up)?

i've used my treo for a long while now and haven't added anything new or hotsync'd it in the last few months and it just started this today.

I can't find the program that cleans up your data but I have seen it posted here.

Take a look at TealScan (http://www.tealpoint.com/softscan.htm) and DBFixit (http://www.pimlicosoftware.com/dbfixit.htm). No guarantees - though there is a fine possibility the file is messed up.

I am trying to backup my sms, but I have yet succeed in finding how to. Thus will only b able to do a hard reset after I finds out how to backup sms.
Do you have any good & free backup programs to recommend?

don't know of any free backup program. I use the basic backup buddy a little over $10-$15 it backs up to my card the upscale (should have bought) backs up to your pc. I believe the upscale will let you restore certain programs one at a time where mine just restores the entire device to the last backup.

Have you guys synced to a pc. If you have or can I would sync so your info is on the pc then do a hard reset. (may have to reinstall programs) After the hard reset verify that your treo is working (ex call log). If it is then set your sync conduits to pc overwrite handheld and resync. Your info should be there and hopefully the call log works.
